Pencil-thin, handlebar, Fu-Manchu—no matter how you shave it, mustaches make a serious statement for the men who sport them. Why not have your ‘stache say something important by signing up for the second annual Movember event?
Hosted by The Aspen Given Foundation this month-long movement spreads Prostate Cancer awareness, raising a whopping $21 million globally and $20,000 locally (in the Roaring Fork Valley).
Money raised by the Valley was donated to the American Prostate Cancer Foundation as well as to local programs that help spread awareness among both men and women. So let that 5 o’clock shadow grow! Register for Movember at the kickoff party at Jimmy’s restaurant Nov. 5 at 5:30 p.m.
But Movember isn’t just about ridiculous facial hair—free PSA testing will begin Nov. 11 at Aspen Valley Hospital (925.3730) and locals can learn more about prevention during the public lecture about Prostate Cancer, Nov. 20 at The Aspen Given Institute. Don’t worry if you can’t grow a mustache as you can always show your support by purchasing $35 tickets to the Movember Gala at Belly Up Nov. 25, 8 p.m.
So trim it, twirl it, shape it—whatever you do, rock that mustache for Movember.
