Aspen Filmfest

For the past 30 years, Aspen Film has brought cinematic splendor to the Roaring Fork Valley as part of its Aspen Filmfest. This year’s celluloid action kicks off September 24 and runs through September 28, bringing much-anticipated features and documentaries to a screen near you. Award-winning flicks from the Cannes, Sundance, and Berlin film festivals make their Aspen debut, giving movie-lovers the chance to check out buzzed-about films and mingle with the directors and actors. Lucky for us, you don’t have to be a movie critic to get your foot in the door at any of these premieres. Tickets for the Aspen showings can be purchased for $12 (weekday matinees are $9) by visiting , while Carbondale tickets can be purchased by calling 970.963.1303.

So butter that popcorn—it’s movie time!

While we aren't one to boast, we couldn't be more excited that Plum was
recognized and officially nominated for two Heartland Regional Emmy
Awards
. The two nominated programs are the documentary chronicling the
journey of three Aspen Ideas Festival Fellows to the 2007 Aspen Ideas
Festival entitled "Aspen Ideas Festival 2007" which was nominated for
best topical documentary, and a compilation piece of Plum's coverage of
the 2007 Food & Wine Classic, "25th Annual Food & Wine Classic
Recap,"
which was nominated for best special event coverage.

"We
are thrilled to be recognized for our work," says Aspen Plum's General
Manager Kutcher Miller. "We take a lot of pride in covering the various
arts and cultural events that happen in Aspen and throughout the
Roaring Fork Valley and to get not one but two Emmy Award nominations
are real feathers in our cap."
