What's Going On

Give Some, Get Some

October 8th, 2008 10:38am

It's time to open those wallets and get ready to get down at the seventh annual Spring Board benefit Give Some, Get Some. The fund-raising soiree is hosted at the Crystal Palace Grille, Oct. 15., from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and is sure to be the party of the off-season. Provisions from Pearl Vodka and Aspen Brewery, as well as food from the Crystal Palace Grille will keep you from going thirsty or hungry, while live music from local favorite Jes Grew will keep you moving and grooving. And don’t forget to bring your plastic as the silent auction boasts some Aspen gems you just can’t live without. But maybe the best part of all—purchasing a $30 ticket ($35 at the door) helps Spring Board’s mission of extending grants to nonprofits in the Roaring Fork Valley. So come on out and mix your philanthropy with a whole lot of party.

Apres in Aspen

We couldn't agree more that Aspen has the number one Apres scene in the West. See for yourself by checking out the young and hip scene at 39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel.

The mass’ have spoken. Well, actually SKI Magazine has spoken and they have placed Aspen/Snowmass all over their 2008-09 Resort Top 10s. It comes as no surprise to us that Snowmass landed in fourth place on SKI Magazine’s Top 30 Resorts for 2008-9. And while we won’t deny the longstanding, friendly rivalry with Vail Resort, we will give our sister station in Vail a shout-out as their mountain came in second place on the Top 30 Resorts. Aspen reigns supreme when it comes to after-skiing activities (obviously!) as our mountain town took the number one spot for après-ski and first place for dining. Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, and Aspen Highlands were also all littered through other Top 10 categories such as Service, On-Mountain Food, Family Programs, Off-Hill Activities, Overall Satisfaction, and Lodging. And while we already knew just how good we have it, it never hurts to hear it from SKI Magazine. Way to go Aspen/Snowmass!
