Elliot Gerson, of the The Aspen Institute, stopped by a special edition of MNN to talk about the intentions behind the inaugural Aspen Environment Forum.
The Aspen Institute has for nearly 60 years provoked thoughtful conversations and fostered ideas on how to improve our lives, our community, and our world. While the sold out Aspen Ideas Festival hits town June 30-July 4, The Institute and National Geographic magazine present the inaugural Aspen Environment Forum March 26-30, where scientists, politicians, historians, activists, educators, and leaders will gather in Aspen for an exchange about the state of our environment.
Some of the great minds presenting at the Forum include E.O. Wilson professor and honorary curator in entomology at Harvard, James Rogers President and CEO of Duke Energy, Lester Brown founder and president of Earth Policy Institute, Sally Benson executive director of the Global Climate & Energy Project at Stanford University, Steven Strong founder and president of Solar Design Associates, and Jeff Seabright manager of environmental affairs at Coca Cola.
Topics will range from climate change to wilderness extinction, clean sources of energy, sustainability in business to urbanization, as well as many other conversations focusing on our environment.
For more information on passes and individual tickets please visit www.aspenenvironment.org. And if you're unable to attend, be sure to stay tuned to Channel 16 as Plum will be live and onsite during the Forum, interviewing some of the environment's biggest heavy hitters.
