Adrenaline junkies, jibbers, and jumpers, descended on our moutain town for the premiere action-sports event of the year, ESPN Winter X Games 12, returned to Buttermilk Mountain Jan. 24-27. For an unprecedented seventh consecutive year more than 250 of the best international athletes competed in Skier X, Slopestyle, Snowboarder X, Superpipe, SnoCross, Big Air, Mono X, Snowmobile Freestyle, and new this year—Snowmobile Speed & Style. It’s not all about the fearless, gravity-defying, athletes, as last year’s games attracted nearly 70,000 X-Games enthusiasts.
