MotherLode Volleyball Classic Returns

The 35th Annual Crocs MotherLode Volleyball Classic lands in downtown Aspen August 30-September 3. Originally created to spice up an otherwise lackluster Labor Day weekend (this was in the days before the JAS Labor Day Festival), the event has grown to become the most comprehensive beach doubles volleyball tournament in North America. Spectators can watch more than 500 teams, including beach professionals and USA National Team members from all over the country, vie for the bragging rights of championship titles. The winners of selected divisions will also gain guaranteed entry to the 2007 U.S. Open of Beach Volleyball in Huntington Beach, California. Throughout the weekend, 17 divisions of competitors are spread out across volleyball courts in downtown Aspen. There are plenty of opportunities to catch one of the intense matches, but we recommend watching the best of the bunch set and spike during the men and women's open sand competitions at Koch Lumber Park.
