Not in the Big Easy this Mardi Gras? No worries, as Snowmass’ Greatest Show on Snow is one of the biggest Mardi Gras celebrations north of New Orleans. The action starts at dawn with the Mother of All Ascensions Snowshoe race, a wild 1,741 vertical ft. race up Fanny Hill on snowshoes, track skis, or shoes. And don’t forget your carnival outfit as competitors can win prizes for the best costume—as well as the best and (lucky for us) worst time.

Be sure to don your purple and gold while you chow down at the Crawfish Boil at Zane’s Tavern, indulge in some Crawdads and Hush Puppies at the Cirque Bar & Grill, and treat yourself to a slice of Kings Cake. And don’t worry about going thirsty, as there will be plenty of Hurricaine drink specials throughout the Mall. Kiddies can also get in on the revelry with face painting, clowns, and more than 28,000 beads up for grabs. Fat Tuesday wouldn’t be complete without a good ol’ fashioned parade and Snowmass has you covered with a procession filled with jester’s, jokers, kings, and queens.
