Party Season in Aspen

As the fetes taper down in the New Year, now’s the perfect time to reflect on some of our favorite happenings from the 2007 holiday season.

As always Aspen started its party circuit with a bang at Aspen Sojourner magazine's Sojourner Salutes celebration. Hosted at Hotel Jerome, five Aspen locals, Chris Klug, Lita and Mort Heller, and Carl and Katie Bergman were honored for their philanthropy and community service.

The Aspen Chamber of Commerce and Resort Association’s holiday party kept pace—with cookie decorating, live music, magician Doc Eason, and Santa. Afterwards, party-goers headed to the Red Sky at Night celebration at the Sky Hotel, where guests enjoyed decadent hors d’oeuvres and delicious libations, all benefiting the Kimpton's Red Ribbon Campaign and the Colorado AIDS Project.

Santa
(the man of the month) was seen in and around town talking to good boys and girls at the Hotel Jerome, making a list at the Aspen Recreation Center, and checking it twice at The Silvertree Hotel in Snowmass.

And what would the holidays be without the Plum party? Aspen Daily News and Plum teamed up to throw one of the hottest soirees in town at Aspen’s new (and fabulously swanky) restaurants—Social.

As always Aspen Magazine hosted a jam-packed Holiday Launch Party at the Terrace Bar at The Little Nell, where guests indulged in Pravda Vodka concoctions as well as chef Ryan Hardy’s mouthwatering hors d’oeuvres. After, guests made their way to Aspen Film's Academy Screenings Kickoff Party at 39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel to celebrate the event's 17th year.

Fashionista’s dressed up in diamonds and fur for the 2007 Dennis Basso Freestyle—the fabulously over-the-top fund-raiser for the Aspen Art Museum. This see-and-be-seen event boasted Ivana Trump, designer Dennis Basso, and former Gucci CEO Domenico De Sole.

Our mountain town knows how to celebrate the New Year right as Aspenites rang in 2008 at the sold-out La Cantina fiesta, Eric’s Bar, ZZ Top at Belly Up, while the little ones monkeyed around at the Aspen Recreation Center.

Will all the action it’s no wonder why Aspen had a very merry, very busy holiday season! For more insider scoop, check out the right-hand side for Plum’s complete coverage—videos, slideshows, and more.
