Where the Beer Flows Like Wine

Chili Pepper & Brew Fest returns to Snowmass June 6-8, and we think this unofficial kickoff to summer is a great excuse (as if we needed one) to eat hearty, drink heavy, and dance all weekend. Festivalgoers can satisfy their hankering for spicy food with two International Chili Society-sanctioned cook-offs Friday and Saturday and the Locals Chili Cook-off Sunday. (Attendees can sample the three categories included in the competition—chili red, chili verde, and salsa.)

Even though the mere thought of all that delicious chili might give you heartburn, don't forget you can wash it down with plenty of frosty beer from more than 30 microbreweries from Colorado and beyond--all vying for Best Summer Ale. And don't forget to try the homemade beer during Sunday's Home Brew competition.

In between the hot food and cold drinks, get your groove on with three days of bluegrass and reggae rhythms. DJ Harry, Lyrics Born, and Stephen Marley will have you burning off all those calories Friday, while The Neville Brothers, Henry Butler, and Dr. John will keep you moving Saturday.

So grab the Tums and head out to this deliciously fun event.
